A Heritage Flush Windows Installation

As we said above, the clients opted to have the Residence 9 windows installed into their home. They chose to have the profiles coloured in a white hue, providing a classic yet charming aesthetic.

All Residence 9 frames and flush windows on the market come as standard with a black gasket and spacer bar finish; this is the giveaway that it is infact a plastic window and not an original timber flush casement.

Original timber windows never featured a seal finish, meaning that the glazing was held in with putty. With this, you never got the appearance of black unsightly gaskets around the edge of the sashes. When you choose GHI for your Residence 9 windows, we install the profiles with a unique white gasket, thus providing an extra special finish when trying to recreate the look of traditional timber flush windows. Uniquely, our manufacturers hand roll the white gasket finish to make the window indistinguishable from its timber counterpart.

As well as this, the Residence 9 windows that we installed also included a range of upgraded features to help further enhance authenticity. The uPVC windows feature Radlington deep traditional 55mm external cills – typically Residence 9 windows will come as standard with 30mm cills. You can also see that they have black dummy butt hinges, which is a feature you would typically see on timber flush windows.

Lastly, the Sutton Residence 9 windows have a drip rail feature to external transom. This helps to retain period character of this beautifully traditional property.
